INODYSSEY: Campbell Works
INODYSSEY: Journeys of Migration, Memory, and Belonging
"When the peaks of our sky come together, My house will have a roof." - Paul Eluard
Opening June 5th, 2025, at Campbell Works, London, INODYSSEY brings together eight international artists. Curated by AWITA Member Bengü Gün, Gözde Altun, and Murat Balcı. Coinciding with Refugee Week and supported by Arts Council England, this multidisciplinary exhibition explores migration, memory, and belonging.
Inodyssey also offers a rich public program of talks, workshops, book readings, collective lunches, and networking events, fostering dialogue and cultural exchange. Both the exhibition and program invite audiences to reflect on intertwined inner and outer journeys of displacement, transforming personal stories into shared conversations.
The name "Inodyssey" holds a dual meaning. It can be read as "InOdyssey," signifying an external journey, or "Inner Odyssey," pointing to an internal voyage of self-discovery. For refugees, these two journeys often unfold simultaneously, intricately intertwined. As they weave personal histories with new experiences, complex narratives of identity and belonging are shaped.
Inodyssey is a project that transcends borders through storytelling, born from intimate conversations among curators and expanded to include other creatives.
These exchanges have brought forth stories that transform alienation into understanding, indifference into solidarity, and obscurity into compassion. Beyond the exhibition, Inodyssey's public programs create space for interaction and solidarity. Through participatory workshops and artist talks, the program cultivates a safe environment for genuine cultural interaction, fostering new networks and shared experiences.
