As 2025 comes to a close and many of us prepare to reconnect with family – near or far – we invite you to come together to reflect on belonging, leadership, and building cultural worlds away from home, and to share in honouring the work and legacy of revered Māori artist and activist, Robyn Kahukiwa.

Two New Zealanders in London, Sigrid Kirk and Phillida Reid, will be in conversation within the show, which gathers work by Kahukiwa (Ngāti Porou, Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti, Ngāti Konohi, Te Whānau-a-Ruataupare, 1938 - 2025), spanning the past thirty-five years.

The exhibition was put together in accordance with Kahukiwa’s wishes before her passing in April of this year, with devoted support from Reina Kahukiwa, and Season, her gallery in Aotearoa.

Please fill in the form below to RSVP.

Kahukiwa's work engages deeply with themes of heritage, identity, and sovereignty central to Māori experience in Aotearoa New Zealand and to Indigenous communities globally.  Her interdisciplinary and activist practice is an expression of Indigenous knowledge systems, exploring concepts of motherhood, ancestral knowledge, whakapapa (genealogy) and tikanga Māori (Māori customs and values) and mana wāhine (the unique power and spirit of Māori women), whilst addressing the impacts of colonisation and the ongoing dispossession of Indigenous peoples.

The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of films curated by Tendai Mutambu, Jessica Hansell aka Coco Solid (Ngāpuhi/Samoa), and Adam Piron (Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and Mohawk).
